The Swirling Storm

A YA eco-fiction novel · Currently querying agents

The Pod has been a refuge for those who survived the war between Canada and the North American Alliance, as well as the ecological collapse. There, sixteen-year-old Storm and her family believed they were safe, and could put her parents’ brutal murders behind them.

But after Storm fends off an attack during a hunting trip, a new threat begins circling their community, leading to a series of seemingly mysterious events. Storm and her best friend Jayce investigate — and what they find connects back to her parents’ deaths, threatening everything the Pod believes about safety, trust, and survival.

The Swirling Storm is a ~79,000-word YA eco-fiction novel with crossover appeal, set in a post-apocalyptic Quebec. It’s for readers who love the close, community-under-threat intimacy of Louise Penny’s Three Pines — reimagined as YA post-apocalyptic eco-fiction.
